Hello SAVE!

Wow, a new school year is quickly approaching and I could not be more enthused. My name is Christian Gonzalez and I am the 2007-2008 Youth Advisory Board (YAB) Co-Chair. I am from Denver, Colorado and I am a senior at Montbello High School in Denver, Colorado. I am also president of the Montbello SAVE Chapter. I have been involved with SAVE for three years and this will be my second year on the National SAVE Youth Advisory Board. I am really looking forward to an exiting school year with a new group of amazing YABers and SAVE members from across the country!

My name is Michael Register and I am the other Co-Chair of the 2007-2008 Youth Adviosry Board(YAB) Co-Chair. I am from Farmville, North Carolina and I am a Junior at Farmville Central High School were i also serve as the President for my local SAVE Chapter. I have been involved with SAVE for 6 years and i have serverd on the YAB 3 year now. I am looking foward to all the enthusiasm that each and everyone brings to SAVE

The National Youth Board has planned a lot of great events events for the school year! In October we will have America Safe Schools Week. Activities conducted during Safe Schools Week will draw attention to the continuing problem of school violence and educate everyone about how schools can be made safer and more secure. America's Safe Schools Week offers an opportunity to address this very important issue and to take steps to ensure that schools offer students and teachers an environment in which they can perform to the best of their abilities. Also during National Safe School's Week on October 24, we will have have National SAVE Day in which chapters all across the nation celebrate SAVE by having tons of fun activities! And on October 26 we will have the National SAVE Rock-A-Thon, this is where chapters and communities have an opportunity to come together and raise proceeds and awareness for achieving the mission of Students Against Violence Everywhere! We are all very exited about are upcoming events and we encourage you to participate with your chapter!
