STUDENTS AGAINST VIOLENCE EVERYWHERE ~ ADVISOR OF THE YEAR: DENISE MCCOY - KONNOAK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Even though SAVE is student initiated and student run, good adult guidance helps our members to succeed. The 2006 SAVE Advisor of the Year, Denise McKoy, is enthusiastic in her support of the Konnoak SAVE Chapter and its students. She has been tireless in her support of service projects, monthly meetings and has added a parental involvement component. She has enlisted the support of the community in assisting in programs and presentations to help promote Konnoak Elementary as a safe school. She has organized the purchase by the SAVE club of safety bags for each classroom. When there is a fire or safety drill, teachers carry the bags on to the playground with class lists, phone numbers, medication information, and emergency supplies. She is always on the lookout for ways to serve the chapter. Ms. McKoy holds firmly to the conviction that "if it is worth doing, it is worth doing right!" Ms. McKoy we commend you for doing it right with the SAVE chapter at Konnoak Elementary!
