The SAVE Chapter from Moore Intermediate from Florence, SC was recognized by the National Association of Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) for their work and efforts in preventing school violence. The 2007-2008 National SAVE Chapter of the Year Award was awarded to Moore Intermediate for outstanding performance and lasting contributions to the school, community, and students and for exemplifying the ideals of SAVE. Moore's award was announced at the 12th Annual SAVE Summit. The SAVE Summit was the culminating event of National Youth Violence Prevention Week across the country (March 31 - April 5, 2008).

The Moore Intermediate School Eagles SAVE Club received the SAVE Chapter of the Year Award for their dedication to the fight against violence. Throughout this year the Eagles SAVE Club has faced challenges and overcome them due to members' positive attitudes. This group educates their peers and community on the history, goals and mission of SAVE through assemblies, service projects and a monthly newsletter. SAVE students challenge and engage the entire student body with violence prevention projects throughout the year. The school PTA also gives the chapter much support.
