STUDENTS AGAINST VIOLENCE EVERYWHERE -- RESPONDING TO SCHOOL VIOLENCE TRAGEDIES

The events of February 14, 2008 at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL and other recent incidents at post-secondary campuses across the country are so very tragic. National SAVE wishes to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the victims. We are again reminded that school violence can happen anywhere and at anytime. We must continue to be vigilant in making our schools as safe and secure as possible. There will be time for analyzing the questions that this incident at Northern Illinois University raised, but for now we must deal with the grief and find ways to move forward. SAVE will continue our efforts to make all campus settings safe and secure while they remain conducive to learning.
