burglary and armed sexual assault. Ms. Kit Evans will talk about her journey and

2009 National SAVE Service Project & Alex Orange Memorial –
Peace Gardens!
Fundraising Progress for Alex Orange Memorial
|
The National Youth Advisory Board has announced the 2009 National SAVE Service Project Initiative –
Peace Gardens! Each year, SAVE Chapters across the country participate in a common service project.
This is a chance for SAVE chapters to feel a part of the national effort, while making a difference in their
own community. The YABers are encouraging every SAVE Chapter to create a Peace Garden in their
school or community. A place where students and adults can sit, reflect and enjoy the friendship of
others. Please be sure to send us a photo of your SAVE members in your Peace Garden so that it can
be displayed at the National SAVE Summit! In addition, in honor of SAVE’s 20th Anniversary, the YAB
would also like to be able to purchase a memorial in honor of Alex Orange for the Peace Garden at West
Charlotte High School. Since the 2009 SAVE Summit is going to take place at West Charlotte High
School on October 17th that will be a perfect time to present the memorial to them! In order to accomplish
this, we are asking each SAVE Chapter to conduct a small fundraiser and send the proceeds to National
SAVE – be sure to mark the donation for Alex’s Memorial. Thank you for remembering Alex Orange
and the first SAVE Chapter through this effort!
